Abstract
ABSTRACT This paper discusses the position of the subject when facing contemporary medical practices. The analysis focuses on a selection of articles from popular-science magazine Superinteressante, based on the principles of discourse analysis developed in Brazil, and supported by the postulates of Michel Foucault. The subject, the body and the clinic, therefore, will be the three axes we could highlight in order to understand the truth building mechanisms within media discourse. In other words, we intend to present a quotidian history and its future. Keywords: Subject; body; clinic; media; discourse.
