Abstract
This arricie examines the relation between archaeology and history, understood as disciplines. It explores the process by means of which these disciplines have become distanced and found sepárate niches of action in the American context and in the Colombian context in particular. It analyzes the future relations between the two disciplines, proposing action scenarios and the necessary relation foreseen for the future between these two disciplines which have traditionally turned their backs on each other.
