Abstract

Dental Health Education received by the mother is a program to promote mother's dental health behaviour and her children's dental health care. The dental health care of children under the age of four years are still depend on their parent, especially their mother. Dental Health Education for mothers in generally considered insufficient; 40.3% of them are categorized lack of knowledge and 38.4% are fair. Only 21.3% are considered have a good knowledge about dental health. 0.7% of them contribute mother's dental health behaviour, and 2.1% to child's gingivitis. The contribution of mother's behaviour to the children's gingivitis (direct impact) is 73.2% and the total impact (direct plus indirect impact) as much as 22.8%.
