Abstract
La sierra nevada de Santa Marta (SNSM) esta situada en el extremo norte de la República de Colombia entre los 10 y 11 grados de latitud norte y entre los 72 y los 74 grados de longitud oeste esta constituida por un grupo montañoso de forma piramidal y base triangular de unos 120 km.
