Abstract
En este trabajo se alude al rol que jugaron Raúl Prebisch y la CEPAL en el proceso de producción e institucionalización de un conocimiento socio-crítico en los años 50 en América Latina. Desde una perspectiva bourdiana, nuestro objetivo es avanzar más allá de las miradas biográficas que se han escrito sobre la obra de Prebisch y anclarlas en el desarrollo evolutivo de las ideas de la CEPAL. Se analiza, por un lado, la posición teórica y estratégica de Prebisch en el campo de las ciencias sociales de la época y se explica, por otro, el opacamiento de la CEPAL en el contexto de la crisis del modelo industrialización sustitutiva, el traslado de Prebisch a la UNCTAD y la gestación del debate dependentista en el pensamiento latinoamericano.
