Abstract
In this paper we presents the evaluation results of fattening pigs welfare of individual households using assessment procedures set out in the Welfare Quality Program standards. For this purpose several individual households were assessed from rural areas of Timis County. In this agricultural area, the fattening of pigs in extensive system is characterized by ensuring a thick layer of straw on compact floor and larger space for animal movement in the box. Our results show a fluctuation of the welfare directly related to the season, kind of feeding and herd size.
