Abstract
Las avispas parasitoides son parte fundamental dentro del manejo integrado de plagas (MIP) y el control biológico, aunque el conocimiento básico de su biologÃa y distribución son desconocidos para la mayorÃa de las especies y grupos. Los modelos predictivos permiten una primera aproximación a la distribución de las especies en áreas no muestreadas o de interés. En esta revisión se presenta y discute el marco conceptual y aspectos a considerar en las etapas básicas para la aplicación de esta herramienta con avispas parasitoides.
