Este ensaio analisa o conto de Albert Camus La pierre qui pousse, "a pedra que brota", incluído em seu livro L'exil et le royaume. O episódio tem lugar em Iguape, durante a festa dedicada ao Bom Jesus, o santo padroeiro da cidade. Um engenheiro francês, d'Arrast, ao chegar em Iguape, encontra um pobre, negro, que havia prometido carregar uma enorme pedra para agradecer um milagre recebido do Bom Jesus. O conto é um tocante exemplo de literatura de resistência: foi escrito logo após a viagem que Camus fez ao Brasil.
This essay analyses Camus' tale La pierre qui pousse, "The Stone that Sprouts", included in his book L'exil et le royaume. The episode takes place in Iguape during the feast dedicated to Bom Jesus (Good Jesus), the town's patron saint. A French engineer, d'Arrast, having arrived in Iguape, meets a poor Negro who has promised to bear an enormous stone with him in order to thank for a miracle accomplished by Bom Jesus. The tale is a touching example of literature of resistance: it was written soon after Camus' travel to Brazil.
تُحلل هذه الدراسة قصة ألبير كامو "La pierre qui pousse" («الصخرة التي تنبت»)، المُدرجة ضمن مجموعته القصصية "L'exil et le royaume" («المنفى والملكوت»). تدور أحداث القصة في إيغوابي (Iguape) أثناء الاحتفال المُكرّس لـ "بوم جيزوس" (Bom Jesus)، القديس الشفيع للمدينة. وعند وصول المهندس الفرنسي، داراست (d'Arrast)، إلى إيغوابي، يلتقي برجل أسود فقير نذر أن يحمل صخرة ضخمة شكرًا على معجزة نالها من "بوم جيزوس". وتُعدّ هذه القصة نموذجًا مؤثّرًا لأدب المقاومة؛ إذ كُتبت بُعيد الرحلة التي قام بها كامو إلى البرازيل.
