Abstract

This paper seeks to contribute to our reading of the unfinished poem “ Égloga Piscatoria en la muerte del duque de Medina Sidonia”, by Luis de Gongora. It reconsiders the piece using patronage culture, the framework Federico Garcia Lorca’s establishes in “La imagen poética de don Luis de Góngora”, and contemporary debates around the concept of obscuritas in writing for an audience made up exclusively of poets.
