Abstract
In the reviewed anthology, experts from science and practice present the state-of-the-art of basic topics in the field of new media in education. In doing so, they point out the potentials as well as the limits of new media and discuss vital questions concerning their impact and effectiveness in an educational setting. Across the twenty-three contributions the topic is addressed from several research fields—e.g. educational studies, psychology, media studies and information technology—and thereby seen from different but complementary perspectives.
