Abstract
El objetivo del artículo es reflexionar sobre el procedimiento de gestión icónica utilizado por Alfredo Jaar (Santiago, 1956) dentro del contexto de las obras derivadas de Rwanda Project, un monumental trabajo realizado desde 1994 que enuncia los desastres causados por la violencia inhumana en el genocidio de Ruanda. La intención es comprender los mecanismos retóricos usados por Jaar -mise-en-invisibilité- dirigidos a la conciencia visual del espectador a través de la ocultación total o parcial de la imagen, la narración secuencial y procedimientos escenográficos establecidos en instalaciones de gran formato o la evocación literaria.
