Abstract
Dalam pengembangan malapari (Pongamia pinnata Merril) sebagai penghasil bahan baku energi minyak nabati diperlukan benih bermutu dengan jumlah yang cukup dan berkelanjutan. Adanya model pendugaan produksi benih dapat membantu proses perencanaan produksi lebih akurat. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menentukan model penduga produksi benih malapari (Pongamia pinnata Merril) di Desa Batukaras, Kabupaten Ciamis. Pohon contoh penghasil benih malapari dipilih secara purposive sebanyak 30 pohon menurut sebaran kelas diameter pohon yang ada di areal penelitian yaitu sebanyak 103 pohon. Setiap pohon contoh dilakukan pengukuran diameter pohon, tinggi total, tinggi bebas cabang dan diameter tajuk. Diameter pohon diukur pada ketinggian 130 cm dari permukaan tanah. Data produksi benih diperoleh dengan cara memetik seluruh polong setiap pohon contoh. Hasil penelitian mununjukkan bahwa diameter pohon (x2) dan diameter tajuk (x3) berkorelasi terhadap produksi polong malapari, sedangkan produksi benih hanya berkorelasi dengan diameter tajuk. Model penduga produksi benih malapari di Batukaras adalah Yb = -1050 + 482 x3 butir (r= 48,5% ).
