Abstract

Gracias al tráfico marítimo del Galeón de Manila (1565-1815), que unió Oriente con Occidente, el archipiélago filipino se convirtió en un territorio de contacto en el que se materializó el nacimiento de una estética resultado de intercambios orientales, novohispanos y español. La eboraria hispanofilipina es sin duda el mejor ejemplo de esta sinergia cultural, estos marfiles han llegado hasta nuestros días, conservando Granada unos magníficos ejemplares que estudiaremos en éste artículo.
