Abstract
In this research, studying the information provided by the art critics during Franco’s Goverment and the whole of the press at the time, we can study the history of Escuela de Madrid, we can study the artists considered «background», Palencia, Vázquez Díaz, Solana or Cossío, and we can analyse artists that were part of that ‘school’ and its never broken connection with modernity. The Escuela de Madrid was a way of trend outside the State ideology.
