Abstract
Neste estudo objetivamos: conhecer a representação envelhecimento bem-sucedido para um grupo de idosos e averiguar os princípios que norteiam o envelhecimento bem-sucedido, segundo um grupo de idosos. Tivemos como informantes os participantes de um grupo de convivência da 3ª idade. Utilizamos como instrumento a entrevista não diretiva, semi-estruturada e grupal. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa norteada pelos pressupostos da teoria das representações sociais, submetido à técnica de análise de conteúdo. Dos resultados, imergiram três categorias de análise e quatorze subcategorias, sendo categoria 1 - Concepção do Envelhecer, categoria 2 - Concepção do Envelhecer sem Saúde, categoria 3 - Concepção do Envelhecer com Saúde. Percebemos que eles consideram possível o envelhecimento bem-sucedido, principalmente a partir da satisfação das necessidades.
