Abstract
Quando conversamos, somos interrogados sugestivamente, lemos ou vemos a cobertura da mídia sobre algum evento, estamos sujeitos a informações enganosas. Esta pesquisa investigou a emergência das falsas memórias na leitura e sua relação com o conhecimento prévio. Foram coletados dados com universitários e não universitários que leram um texto, realizaram uma tarefa de distração e resolveram um teste de memória de reconhecimento imediato constituído de questões de múltipla escolha e de verdadeiro e falso, envolvendo itens-alvo e distratores críticos e não relacionados. Os resultados, analisados através da Anova (SPSS), apontaram diferenças entre os grupos e o tipo de atividade e estão relacionados com o conhecimento prévio do leitor num maior ou menor nível: o conhecimento prévio sobre um assunto interfere na acurácia da memória.
