Abstract
Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a relação de causalidade existente entre o sistema de inovação do estado de Minas Gerais e o desempenho das exportações mineiras no período de 2003 a 2010. Esta pesquisa parte do referencial teórico acerca das características do sistema de inovação e de uma breve análise sobre as exportações. Por meio dessa base teórica e empírica, é possível identificar forte relação entre as variáveis sistema de inovação e exportação para o estado mineiro. A metodologia do trabalho é baseada no Teste de Causalidade Granger, a fim de identificar o grau de causalidade entre as variáveis propostas. Como resultado da pesquisa, infere-se forte relação entre exportação e o sistema de inovação. Conclui-se que parte das hipóteses propostas foi atingida, porém o trabalho possui algumas limitações.
