Abstract
O que é Educação Integral? Eis uma pergunta que não se responde fácil e prontamente. Pode-se dizer, como princípio de explicação, que Educação Integral é um ato de educar voltado para a integralidade da formação do sujeito, o que nos remete em última instância a outra embaraçosa e infalível pergunta: nesse sentido, toda educação não deveria ser integral? Visando compreender a complexidade que envolve essa categoria de análise, pretendemos realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os estudos que se dedicaram a investigá-la, identificando possíveis ambiguidades e estereótipos que a cercam. Para tanto, primeiramente construímos um panorama que contempla estudos sobre a educação integral, realizando um apanhado de sua constituição histórica e de sua consolidação como política pública, no Brasil.
