Abstract
Die eerste rekords van plantspesies wat in die Nasionale Krugerwildtuin (NKW) versamel is, dateer volgens Van Wyk (1971) terug na die vorige eeu. Die eerste grootskaalse plantversameling is egter eers in die vroeë somer van 1932 deur dr. Herbert Lang uitgevoer waartydens meer as 300 verskillende plantspesies versamel is. Obermeijer (1937) het ook in die vroeë dertigerjare in die gebied versamel en die eerste publikasie oor die plantegroei van die NKW gelewer. Codd het teen 1951 ongeveer 1 200 plantspesies versamel, terwyl Van der Schijff (1957; 1969) 'n spesielys van ongeveer 2 000 spesies vir die gebied saamgestel het. Aanvullings tot hierdie spesielys is deur Brynard (1961) en Van Wyk (1971)gemaak.
