Abstract
A proposta é uma leitura a ristoté lico-psicanalítica do conto "O ho~e m do Pinguelo"de Estas estórias de Guimarães Rosa. Com efeito,este texto agencia os temas de identid ade e alteridade, de sorte e destino,de solidariedade e de desejos humanos. Parte-se das categorias deanagnorisis (reconhecimento = " passagem do ignorar ao conhecer") ede peripécia (" inversão da ação no sentido con trário") presentes na poética de Aristóteles, e chega-se à articulação entre identidade e destino,tão decisivos nesse conto. Recorre-se também à Antropologia Psicana líticapara elucidar alguns motivos folclóricos que pontuam o texto, sobretudoa apotropaica figura do "H omem do Pinguelo", que traz sorte.E finalmente, aponta-se o procedimento caro a Guimarães Rosa, de revestirde dignidade trágica a vida dos homens do povo, dos rudes sertanejos.
