Abstract
Neste trabalho analisamos três usos da expressão mais. Distinguimos dois usos do uso comparativo, sejam eles, o aditivo e o que chamaremos de negativo. Argumentamos que esses três itens não possuem a mesma denotação. As evidências são: a interpretação que as sentenças onde eles ocorrem recebem; e o distinto comportamento em relação ao apagamento de constituintes. Por fim, apresentamos uma proposta de análise que busca capturar a semântica das ocorrências não comparativas de mais nos exemplos discutidos.
