Abstract
Este trabalho visa a uma reflexão sobre as competências de escritados alunos à chegada ao Ensino Superior. São descritas e analisadasas principais dificuldades manifestadas pelos alunos no que dizrespeito ao domínio das técnicas de escrita e à própria correçãolinguística. Faz-se ainda uma análise dos programas de LínguaPortuguesa, para o Ensino Secundário, destacando-se ascompetências descritas como nucleares, no ensino da escrita. Apartir daí, tenta-se explicar a existência de diferentes domínios deescrita, que podem ser explicados pela influência da família,nomeadamente o nível de escolarização dos pais, e pela frequênciado ensino pré-escolar.
