Abstract
Este artículo es el resultado de un trabajo historiográfico sobre el devenir social, educativo y político de Colombia y América Latina, en donde la obra de Germán Zabala se destaca por sus aportes en esta región. El texto muestra cómo, a partir de la influencia del método marxista de conocimiento y de categorías topológicas, Germán Zabala logra integrar la enseñanza de las matemáticas, la comprensión de las ciencias sociales y el accionar político en una propuesta de formación popular política. Un investigador, un educador, un político y un revolucionario que desde las márgenes deja un legado importante al país y a Latinoamérica.
