Abstract
Este artículo se basó en la investigación de la Educación Intercultural Bilingüe, intitulada: La enseñanza–aprendizaje de la lengua y cultura garífuna en la Escuela Primaria “Enmanuel Mongalo” de la comunidad de Orinoco, municipio de Laguna de Perlas, RAAS.
Desde hace varios años se inició en la escuela primaria “Enmanuel Mongalo” la enseñanza–aprendizaje de la lengua garífuna, una actividad de suma importancia no solamente para los garífuna de Orinoco; sino para la revitalización de la lengua garífuna y el patrimonio cultural.
Los garífunas están en una lucha constante por la revitalización de su lengua y cultura como población étnica, y con esta meta se ha desarrollado la enseñanza de la lengua garífuna durante más de nueve años en la Escuela Primaria “Enmanuel Mongalo” de Orinoco.
