Abstract
O texto literário foi constantemente dinamizado, no século XX, por novas tecnologias midiáticas. Destaca-se, nessas relações intersemióticas, o diálogo entre literatura e cinema. Se, por sua vez, a literatura auxiliou o cinema a estabelecer-se como arte, este dinamizou, enriqueceu e divulgou a escrita artística. Sob essa perspectiva, este artigo trata do diálogo que a arte contemporânea trava com obras clássicas da literatura universal. Para demonstrar essas imbricações, trabalhamos com A tempestade, peça de Shakespeare, e com Prospero’s books, filme de Peter Greenaway.
