Abstract
This article aims to outline in broad terms the importance of the information technologies in teaching a foreign language, which is a crucial element in the development of the student´s autonomy of learning and achievement of communicative competence. The use of technologies provides a framework in which it is possible to integrate at the same time the natural use of language, for communication purposes similar to those that occur in the external world, treatment and teaching language learning processes among which we include the development of reading comprehension, texts and practice with different genres, and applying the most appropriate reading strategies and techniques. To do this we will describe this approach and present an example in actual practice, valid for teaching reading comprehension for economic purposes.
