Abstract
Five fertilizer experiments with dry beans (Phaseolus vulgarisL.) were conducted in the southern section of the São Paulo plateau. In the four experiments in which their effects were tested, phosphorus increased significantly the yields in three localities; nitrogen, in one; potassium, sulfur and a mixture of micro-nutrients (Zn, Cu, B and Mo), in none. Liming, whose effects was studied in two localities, increased significantly the yield only in one of them, where the soil pH was 4.65.
