Abstract
Este trabalho objetiva analisar as bases constitutivas do livro didático no Brasil. Para tanto, ultrapassa seus caracteres pedagógicos imediatos como seus conteúdos e ideologia intrínseco e busca captar os seus pressupostos políticos e econômicos. Com esta análise almejasse melhor compreender o livro didático que é distribuído pelo governo federal por meio do Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) aos professores e alunos das escolas públicas, e é recurso privilegiado para realização da prática pedagógica.
