Abstract
Este artigo contribui com os recentes esforços para resgatar a Estilística da condenação promovida pelos Estudos Literários no Brasil. A história da Estilística será o caminho para realizar esta tarefa. O objetivo é demonstrar que a Estilística usa o método estilométrico – análise qualitativa de amostras quantitativas – desde a formação, sendo, pois, sua marca essencial. Propõe-se um novo uso da Estilometria, especificamente para a Literatura, capaz de transformar a simples construção de valores matemáticos para a complexa abordagem de conteúdos hermenêuticos.
