Abstract
O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a relação entre a criação dos diversos periódicos espíritas desde a sua chegada ao Brasil até a década de 1960 e o seu caráter de religião eminentemente letrada, onde o livro, a leitura e o estudo ocupam lugar de destaque no seu sistema ritual, além de fazerem parte do ser espírita.
