Abstract
ABSTRACT
There are many elements that define the identity of a country or a region. There are those that are tangible and those intangible. However, sound art, or electroacoustic music, seems not to have an easy link with this topic: on the one hand, there are many works that, due to their abstract nature, elude geographical or temporal identification and, on the other hand, there are works that establish a link by making gestures or external quotations from folk music. By making questions more than giving answers, and without trying to reach a definite conclusion for the moment, this article tries to find out if it is possible to conceive a type of experimental music in which some kind of sound identity is reflected. In this context, the "Argentina suena" project will be presented, mentioning a corpus of works that deal with this subject according to different criteria and aesthetic proposals.
