Abstract
Este artículo presenta una síntesis de la actual situación de la educación superior en Colombia; analiza las propuestas del Plan de Desarrollo 1998-2002 a la luz de esa síntesis y concluye que el plan no aborda ninguno de los grandes problemas que afectan al sistema de educación superior del país. El plan se limita, en forma obstinada y miope a justificar la reducción de la participación del Estado en el financiamiento de la educación pública de nivel superior.
This article presents a synthesis of the current situation of higher education in Colombia, analyzes the proposals of the Development Plan 1998-2002 in light of that synthesis, and concludes that the plan does not address any of the large problems that affect the country´s higher education system. The plan is limited, in an obstinate and myopic way, to justifying the reduction of the participation of the State in financing public education at the higher level.
