Abstract
Em 1997, um total de 2.637 professores paulistas, participaram de um concurso que selecionou 50 histórias. Ora engraçadas, ora tristes, reflexivas, ou cheias de perplexidade, elas contam pedaços da história da educação no fim do século XX. Publicadas na obra "O professor escreve sua história" (Abrevlivros/FDE/Unicef-1997), escolhemos para esse número na seção Curiosidades a história escrita pela profa. Hurda Irene Perciani Latorre, intitulada “ O desapontamento periférico”.
