Abstract
Este artigo é resultado da participação em Mesa Redonda sobre pesquisa em práticas interpretativas no XIV Congresso da Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação em Música, realizado em Porto Alegre, em agosto de 2003. O texto faz uma breve retrospectiva da situação da pesquisa em práticas interpretativas no Brasil nos últimos seis anos, e também promove reflexões sobre como o instrumentista, que também é docente, poderia aliar sua atividade de pesquisa à sua prática pedagógica.
