Abstract

Aerasi merupakan salah satu proses yang paling penting dalam pengolahan air minum. Salah satu fungsi dari proses aerasi adalah dapat menurunkan kadar mineral berlebih di dalam air baku untuk air minum, seperti kadar besi (Fe). Pada penelitian ini menggunakan tray aerator dan diffuser aerator untuk mengetahui peningkatan nilai oksigen terlarut yang dapat dihasilkan dari masing-masing jenis aerator. Nilai oksigen terlarut yang didapatkan akan digunakan untuk memilih jenis aerator yang paling besar nilai oksigen terlarut dan akan digunakan untuk menurunkan kadar besi (Fe).  Nilai rata-rata oksigen terlarut untuk tray aerator 3 tingkat adalah 6,84 mg/L, tray aerator 5 tingkat adalah 7,24 mg/L, diffuser aerator td 12 menit adalah 5,50 mg/L, dan diffuser aerator td 18 menit adalah 5,68 mg/L. Dari hasil tersebut maka untuk tray aerator 5 tingkat dan diffuser aerator td 18 menit digunakan untuk menyisihkan kadar besi (Fe).  Efisiensi penyisihan kadar besi (Fe) untuk tray aerator 5 tingkat adalah 10%, sedangkan untuk diffuser aerator td 18 menit adalah 2,6%.
