Abstract
O objetivo do presente trabalho é demonstrar o modo particular pelo qual o pensamento filosófico de Cícero distancia-se da prática efética dos principais representantes da Nova Academia: o pensador romano não pratica a epoche ou concede um lugar de destaque para esta noção em seu pensamento. Cícero introduz um novo conceito para caracterizar o seu modo próprio de filosofar, qual seja, o conceito de dúvida (dubitare).
