Abstract
Materiais contendo zinco podem ser erroneamente considerados fertilizantes simples, devido ao inadequado procedimento oficialmente adotado para avaliar o teor de zinco nos fertilizantes. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi estabelecer um procedimento analítico, viável de utilização em rotina, que permita reconhecer se um material contendo zinco pode ser considerado fertilizante simples. O estudo baseou-se no uso das soluções extratoras: cloreto de amônio 2M, 1,5M e 1M, citrato de amônio de densidade 1,09 e pH = 7,0, isto é, a mesma solução usada na avaliação do fósforo, na concentração original e nas diluições (1 + 1), (1 + 3) e (1 + 9) e solução de ácido cítrico a 2%. As técnicas de extração foram agitação ou fervura da amostra com as soluções extratoras. Os resultados mostraram que a fervura da amostra com a solução de citrato de amônio na diluição (1 + 9) foi a que melhor caracterizou os fertilizantes simples contendo zinco insolúvel em água. Os produtos não fertilizantes contendo zinco insolúvel em água existentes no mercado apresentaram teores totais relativamente elevados de cobre, chumbo e cádmio.
Materials containing zinc can erroneously be considered fertilizer materials due to the inadequate official procedure adopted to evaluate zinc content. The purpose of this paper was to develop an analytical procedure that permits to recognize zinc fertilizer materials. The following extractor solutions were used: ammonium chloride 2M, 1,5M and 1M, ammonium citrate of d = 1.09 and pH = 7.0, that is, the same solution used to evaluate phosphorus in fertilizers, in the original concentration and in the dilutions (1 + 1), (1 + 3), (1 + 9), and citric acid 2%. The extraction technique involved agitation or boiling of sample with extractor solutions. Results showed that ammonium citrate solution in the (1 + 9) dilution was the best to characterize water insoluble zinc in the fertilizer materials. Products not considered fertilizers with insoluble zinc presented relatively high percentage of total copper, lead and cadmium.
