Abstract
En este artículo se hace una revisión detallada de una serie de sistemas de clasificación que operan los países que más preocupación han mostrado por calibrar aspectos cualitativos de los
contenidos mediáticos. Sobre dicho pan orama, se contrasta con el sistema de catalogación que actualmente operamos en México, y, en la sección final del trabajo, se plantean algunos desafíos que aún tenemos que enfrentar para contar con mejores sistemas de clasificación.
