Abstract
The most abundant cliche on the Romanian education system seems to be the analogy to the character of Cinderella. Politicians, trade unionists or journalists, each of them used to abuse this convenient metaphor summarizing poverty (read as underfunding), inadequacy and ambitions of the education system. It is a cliche already prevalent, therefore like any other cliché, ends up being a symptom of laziness of thought, lack of willingness towards practical analysis and hues. The original Cindarella remains a succes story. Public discourse, claiming or declarative-reformist, uses the cliché, but the plot stops before the complete victory of the character. That is to say beforethe great test of the crystal shoe.
