Thaumastus straubei sp. nov. é descrita da Floresta Atlântica do Estado do Paraná, Brasil. A atribuição genérica baseou-se a partir de análise morfológica da concha, rádula, mandíbula e das partes moles, evidenciando características únicas e exclusivas que permitem a distinção das demais espécies do gênero conhecidas até o momento.
