Apresenta-se uma revisão taxonômica do gênero Sporobolus R. Br. no Brasil. Foi confirmada a ocorrência de vinte e oito espécies e duas variedades. Apresentam-se os seguintes dados: uma chave analítica para os táxons reconhecidos, descrições detalhadas, sinonímia, ilustrações e dados sobre a sua distribuição geográfica.
