Abstract
El periodista gráfico Julio Alonso conoció los 'secretos' de la infografía en el diario 'El País' (Madrid) y después se ocupó de la dirección de arte de la Agencia Grafía, la primera entidad de este tipo dedicada a la realización de infografía para medios impresos. El trabajo aquí presentado data del periodo en que Alonso trabajó en Grafía y corresponde a la lección impartida en el curso sobre infografía periodística celebrado en la Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo, en su sede de Cuenca. Se trata de la sexta entrega del libro colectivo sobre infografía periodística, iniciado por Mario R. García, del Poynter Institute de Florida (EE.UU.), y continuado por Elio Leturia, grafista del diario norteamericano The Detroit Free Press; por el catedrático de Periodismo José Manuel de Pablos, de la Universidad de La Laguna (Canarias); el ex director de arte del diario Le Monde (París), Michel Gafré, y el profesor Kevin G. Barnhurst, de la Siracuse University.
