Abstract
Istilah subak sudah ada sejak zaman dahulu kala. Berdasarkan keterangan dari para pemuka adat di desa, bahwa anggota organisasi subak ini turun-temurun selama sawah yang dimiliki dari orangtuanya tidak terjual kepada orang lain, maka sawah-sawah tersebut diwariskan kepada generasi berikutnya. Demikian pula tentang keanggotaan sebagai anggota subak dari generasi sebelumnya juga diteruskan kepada keturunannya.
