Abstract
Hace dos años, estando embarazada, presentaba con frecuencia cierto fenómeno que la paciente describe como sensación de adormecimiento en manos, cuello y cara, y en ocasiones dolor de cabeza de tipo pulsátil. Durante el control prenatal, en el tercer mes de embarazo, se le diagnosticó hipertensión arterial, se le instauró tratamiento con hipotensores y se le ordenó régimen alimenticio. Cuando llevaba ocho meses de embarazo, el exceso de droga (según la enferma) originó un estado tóxico, por lo cual le provocaron el parto. Después de éste la hipertensión persistió, y al tercer día notó disminución de la agudeza visual, que llegó, al sexto día, a la pérdida total de la visión.
