a contribution to the study of migration

The paper is a contribution to the study of migration in order to get better insight into the basic problems of contemporary migration flows. It starts by demonstration of different data and results obtained. The most attention to economic migration, with emphasis on the concepts of transnational identity. A special section of the text is dedicated to the observation of migration flows in the contemporary Serbian society, in view of the evident potential external and internal migration. Now, the attention is payed given to all the frequent topics related to study of migration, including the standpoint of gender thus feminisation of migration. Finally, having in mind that migration processes are 'long term', their thorough description including many possible explanations, could have been achieved primarily through deploying of historical approach. However, such an approach had to be omitted, due to space restrictions. So, most of the data presented in this paper refer to the period after 2000. , thereby emphasisings modern trends.
