Abstract
Se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino de 49 años de edad, trabajador, que acudió a la consulta de Conservadora de la Clínica Estomatológica Provincial de Santiago de Cuba con fractura longitudinal de la corona del 11, la que afectaba su estética, resultado de una oclusión traumática. Entre los signos clínicos y radiográficos encontrados estuvieron patrón atípico de desgaste oclusal en dientes anterosuperiores, hipertonicidad de los músculos masticatorios, absceso periapical en 11, mordida cruzada al nivel del 43 y ausencia de varios dientes posteriores, superiores e inferiores. La conducta a seguir fue la realización de tratamiento pulporradicular del 11, posterior reconstrucción de su corona con resina fotopolimerizable y rehabilitación protésica.
The case of a 49-year-old male worker that received attention at the Conservative Treatment Department of the Provincial Dental Clinic of Santiago de Cuba for presenting longitudinal fracture of the crown of the llth tooth that affected his aesthetics as a result of a traumatic occlusion was reported. Atypical pattern of occlusal wear in anterosuperior tooth, hypertonicity of the masticatory muscles, periapical abscess in the llth tooth, cross-bite at the level of the 43rd tooth, and absence of various posterior, superior and inferior teeth, were among the clinical and radiological signs found. The conduct followed was the pulporadicular treatment of the llth tooth, further reconstruction of its crown with photopolymerizable resin and prosthetic rehabilitation.
