Abstract
All the male children from the municipality of Matanzas were included in a study, whose sample was composed of 400 sound children. A stratified probabilistic design and a randomized start scheme were used for their selection. The studied variables were given by the cardiac structures echocardiographically measured in mm and expressed according to the body surface. Left ventricule in systole and diastole, right ventricle, output tractus of the left ventricle, interventricular septum, the aorta, left and right auricles and the shortening fraction, were among these variables. The results were shown in tables by percentiles and body surface. Measurements from 5 to 95 percentile were considered as normal.
