Abstract
RESUMEN: Señalamos que durante el Bajo Imperio la plebe ciudadana mantiene una cierta identidad propia y una cierta conciencia de sí misma. Tanto las celebraciones triunfales como las sublevaciones forman parte de una misma moneda en la que las masas populares adquieren protagonismo. El espacio ciudadano, al que tradicionalmente se ve como lugar exclusivo de las prácticas del poder, es utilizado y reivindicado por la plebe, hasta el punto de que los lugares de concentración del triunfo o de los juegos son los mismos lugares donde la masa acude para mostrar su descontento o reivindicar sus propuestas.
ABSTRACT: During the late Roman Empire, citizen plebeians maintained a certain identity of their own and a certain self-awareness. Triumphal celebrations and uprisings were two sides of the same coin in which the plebeian masses acquired protagonism. At the same time, the citizens' space, traditionally seen as the exclusive place for the practice of power, was used and claimed by the plebeians to the point that the places used by crowds to celebrate triumphs or hold games became the same places where the masses went to show their displeasure or demand that their proposals be met.
