Abstract
This study was accomplished in order to investigate the role of transformational leadership in decreasing employees` cynicism. The importance of positive psychology and its implications in organizational behavior, especially the role of employees` psychological characteristics, and the mediating role of positive behavior, psychological capital and psychological empowerment were all considered in this study. One hundred and three employees from medical care organization were recruited via a random sampling approach, in Qom province. Bass transformational leadership, Luthans, Yousef, and Avolio psychological capital, Spreitzer psychological empowerment, and Kian's organizational cynicism questionnaires, were used to gather the data. The findings showed that transformation leadership, psychological capital, and psychological empowerment were effective in decreasing employees` cynicism. Moreover, positive organizational behavior was found to have a mediating role in the relationship between transformational leadership and employees` cynicism. The results suggest that enhancing transformational leadership, psychological empowerment and psychological capital have a significant effect on decreasing employees` cynicism and even on preventing it.
