Abstract
There is a unifying aspect in the storage, expression and transmission of the information that defines the spatial and temporal patterns of life, from the simplest virus to man. This information is programmed from a linear sequence of only two purines and two pyrimidines linked by sugar and phosphate bridges to form deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), the genetic material common to all.
